Dr. Donald Schroder
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Donald Schroder’s parents always wanted him to become a doctor or a lawyer. Having grown up around everything from dogs, cats, and rabbits to chickens, goats, horses, and sheep, he wanted to do everything in his power to better the lives of animals. Dr. Schroder decided to put two and two together and help pets as a member of the veterinary profession! Now, he’s proud to serve both pets and their loving owners as an Associate Veterinarian.
Dr. Schroder is a Chester County native and attended Pennsylvania State University to earn his Bachelor’s degree in animal production. He also holds a Master’s degree in laboratory animal science from Hahnemann University. Dr. Schroder attended Ross University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in the Caribbean to receive his Doctorate, and then returned to the States and launched his career in private practice in Buffalo, New York.
Dr. Schroder joined the Critter Care Veterinary Hospital family in July of 2018 and has been helping the area’s pets and animal parents here ever since. He loves the client-centered, personal approach that he gets to take with the area’s pet owners, and makes it his mission every day to treat each and every animal companion as if they were his very own.
In his spare time, Dr. Schroder enjoys gardening, fishing, painting, working with model trains, and caring for his many pets at home. He has three dogs—Puddin', Daphne, and Diego—as well as several cats, all of whom were rescued. Dr. Schroder also shares his life with three turtles who go by Sam, Ella, and Steve, as well as a pair of rabbits named Bear and Floyd and a flock of chickens.
